I read Saiyan's Let's call doomscrolling what it is which describes what the web feels like today versus what it used to feel like.
It resonated with me because it was the same feeling of drowning and the urge to rediscover the curious, personal, and sometimes odd web that drove me to create a Bear blog.
Looking beyond the indieweb, fediverse, and other good initiatives, there's a lot of talk about the negative consequences of how the mainstream web is structured, but there's so little action!
Where are the refugees of the mainstream web? Why hasn't a mass migration occured yet?
Most people I know are reluctant users of mainstream web services. I wonder what would be the tipping point for them?
